weheartit
Thirsty for more Thursday,
is the day I have decided to share the list I have spent my past week compiling. The list has different things that I can't get enough of, from websites to general day to day things I love! Things that make me laugh, smile, scream, cry, or basically anything that gets a reaction out of me! So, I am planning on sharing a list like this every Thursday in the hopes of getting a reaction out of you!
'The 47 chicest, hottest and wildest looks from the Cannes Film Awards'. Oh boy, what are they thinking!?
This is a website of '13 websites to get your creative juices flowing'. There's something for everyone I can guarantee it.
To be honest, I wasn't sure what to think of some of these images, and the idea behind them! Some of the images are amazing though. Chow Hon Lam is clearly amazing at what he does!
Jeff Bridges page written about perception actually really got me thinking. I can just image myself being in such a hurry to not even notice someone so famous. I recommend everyone reads this!
If only we could all have helmets similar to this! I really truly want one... Even though I don't own a bike. I think my favourite one would have to be the watermelon one.

Today, my good friend Emily and I went to the local market at the train station to take photos for a photography assignment. Can you believe it, I have lived in this small town all my life and I can't remember the last time I went to that market? Crazy! But, it was actually such an amazing experience. There were so many different ethnicity's at one market. One particular lady quite liked me because I was taking photos of her, and in amongst her bartering with people walking by she would point at me and say "Look at her! Look at her!" And back to business she would go. I felt so official with my camera and that lady gave me the confidence to take photos of people and not be affraid of their reaction! That particular lady also made my day! She seemed to have a curtain way about her.
Anyway, I came away from the market feeling really good about the photos I had taken! These sorts of days make me remember why I love photography so much and to keep trying to develop my skills... After all I am only 16!

This particular lady!

These are only some of the many photos I took today. I may post more soon, but we'll see how these go. I really hope to get the opportunity to go to a market somewhere else really soon because these were so much fun!

Theodore.

This week so far has been rough.
Today (Friday) was the first day I went to school all week.
This photo makes me smile every time I see it.
I do hope that it makes you smile too.

I am a dancer. It is what I love to do. I have danced since I was two, almost three years old. Living in a small town however makes it extremely difficult to make it big in the dancing industry. Not that that's what I want to do right now because I am only 16... But you have to start somewhere and I don't think that this town is the answer.

This weekend I have spent 9 hours dancing. And I am not kidding you at all. I am involved in Stage Challenge for 2011. We will be traveling away on Tuesday to complete in the competition and ultimately win. I have been painting sets, dancing and re-painting sets. It's actually been amazingly fun. However now I need to catch up on homework...

I'm having the next 3 days off school all for different reasons. Normally this wouldn't bother me, but year 12 is so full-on. And now this blog post is stressing me out. Maybe I should go start on that homework. Wish me luck!
It's probably safe to say that I have the most photographed pets in the entire world.
I was just taking a look through some photos on my memory card and came across a lot including the pets!
I make it sound like I have a lot... Well, my family has 2 cats and 2 dogs. They are basically humans in our family, I'm not kidding. Bonnie and Jay (the dogs) are puppies. Theodore is a kitten with two different coloured eyes and Blue is the oldest of the lot, shes almost 10! Here are some photos of the beautiful things.

In roughly 3 months time,
something very exciting is happening.
Well, I've been told not to get my hopes up but...
as any girl would I am.

On the 5th of August is my school formal!
The theme is 'Winter Wonderland'.
Think ice sculptures and dry ice.

I've ordered a dress and booked all that needs booking!
I still need to find shoes though. But that can be done once I'm positively certain about my dress.

I will post a photo of my dress as soon as it arrives.
Which will hopefully be very soon! x

Individuality.

Basically, the main reason I made this blog was to express myself. Some ways will probably be very deep and very personal, but I really feel that blogging about this sort of thing will help me to get over personal and family issues, develop who I am as a person and let out everything that I'm bottling up without the thought that someone is judging me.

I tend to have problems expressing the way I really feel. I feel that by writing the way I feel and what I would usually leave bottled up down I can express myself and it doesn't matter who is listening, mainly because you don't know me. Or at least I won't know who you are if I pass you in the street.

But this brings me to another point, which is actually quite relevant. I'm scared of people judging me. I come from a small town where most people know you or at least know of you. There is only two high schools in the area, MBC and MGC. Boys' College and Girls' College. This makes being unique actually really hard because you are constantly being judge. This may not be a problem for people who don't care about what others think, but sadly I do... Basically my whole life revolves around it.

Recently I went on a family (well as close as it will get to family) holiday to Wellington shopping. I knew when I got there that I would be able to shop without the thought of what people think of me wearing those particular clothes. I knew I would be able to walk into Supre and not have people thinking that I am a slut or a whore because I shop there. I was right, which I feel quite happy to say. BUT that doesn't mean I'm going to feel comfortable getting dressed in the morning wearing my new clothes at all. We'll have to see!

I think I'm going to work on this. Although I do only have a year and a half in this town, I still feel as if this will help to develop EXACTLY who I am without worrying about who is judging me.

I think everyone should be unique and no one should feel that they have to live up to someone's expectations. Individuality is key.

If only it was that easy...

My friend Emily and I went out one night taking photos. In these particular photos I am experimenting with manual focus. I figured I need to work out how to change the focus manually... I'm not sure why? I guess sometimes I feel like I'm cheating having the camera do it for me. So I've purposely let these photos be blurred.

Number 29. Go to a famous persons concert.
Completed on the 18th of July, 2010.

My best friend Paige and I traveled to Christchurch for Winter Jam and stayed with our friend Zoe. Winter Jam for 2010 had famous New Zealand artists including J. Williams, Ivy Lies, Dane Rumble and Kidz in Space. B.o.B also toured New Zealand and performed at Winter Jam. He. Was. Amazing. I'm not usually into music like B.o.B, but words can not explain how amazing he was. I definitely have a new respect for the guy! If you ever have the chance to attend one of his concerts, I definitely recommend it.
